Our Story

You never know where your heart will lead you, but you should always follow it to find true happiness!

After graduating high school, I was sure I knew just what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to be a hospitality manger. I always had a good mind for the restaurant business and loved to see people happy. What could be better, right? So I began to take classes in college for hospitality Management. While navigating the college life, I began working part time at as a dog walker, which I loved as I have always had a love for dogs. A few years into college, I found myself really trying to like what I was doing but the truth was, I was miserable.
Even had the opportunity to work for a fortune 500 company Walt Disney World.  The only place I was really happy was with the pups. That's when I realized, maybe my heart is telling me to try something I never thought of: become a groomer! 

I found a local grooming school, got my certifications and put in hours of work learning how to properly and safely handle all sizes and kinds of dogs when grooming... and I truly loved every second of it. That is exactly when I knew that it was worth following my heart and becoming what truly made me happy: a dog groomer!
Our Services

Where we started?

After a few years of apprenticeship under a fellow groomer, I was ready to go out on my own. I was married, pregnant and ready to start the next chapter of my life, on my terms. 

I took the leap and began my own business! It was scary and exciting, all at once! I invested in converting my garage into a small dog grooming salon and worked as often as I could, between raising my children. Soon enough, I was so busy that I was able to hire people here and there to help me with the smaller aspects of my salon while I handled all the grooming and all of the intricacies running a business entails.

Many years and 3 children later, we have outgrown our small salon in my converted garage and started to branch out, searching for the perfect pup-friendly spot! I saw so many locations but knew that my heart would lead me to the right location in time! Sure enough, I found the perfect spot. I knew it as soon as I walked in! 

I am so excited to introduce my long-time clients to my new location! I am also thrilled to now be able to accept new pup-clients with all of the room that I now have! SudzeePups is now home!

  • What are your business hours?

    We are open from 9 to 3, Tuesday to Saturday.

  • Where are you located?

    We are currently located at 188 woodbury rd, Hicksville, NY 11801

  • Are you experienced with special needs and/or elderly pets?

    Yes, we are experienced with both special needs and elderly pets. We always take our time to make them feel safe and comfortable.

  • Do you take walk-ins?

    Unfortunately we don’t take walk-ins at this time. All grooming is by appointment only so we can make sure each pet has their own dedicated time
